River View softball downs Carrollton

WARSAW – The River View Lady Bears varsity softball team snagged a late lead and defeated Carrollton 15-4 on March 26. The game was tied at four with the River View Lady Bears batting in the bottom of the fourth when Alyssa Thomas doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

River View was boosted by Claire Warschauer who went four for five at the plate. Warschauer singled in the first, homered in the second, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.

The Lady Bears took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Peyton Werntz grounded out, scoring one run.

River View put up four runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Bears big bats in the inning were led by doubles from Warschauer and Thomas.

Thomas got the start for River View. She surrendered four runs on four hits over six innings, striking out five.

River View scattered 12 hits in the game.
