River View swim competes at Dover invite

DOVER – The River View swim teams competed in the 19th annual Dover Invitational on Saturday Dec. 1. The boys placed second out of 10 teams and the girls placed fifth out of eight.

For the girls, Lindsey Ashcraft was second in the 100 Breast (1:19.85), and fourth in the 50 Free (28.24), Carolyn Cox was fourth in the 100 Back (1:11.02), Katie Hardesty was 10th in the 200 Free (2:34.86), Kyara Roberts was 10th in the 100 Fly (1:30.46), the relay group of Cox, Ashcraft, Josie Fornara, and Rachel Vandenbark was fourth in the 200 Medley (2:11.89) and in the 200 Free (1:58.99), and the foursome of Fornara, Hardesty, Vandenbark, and Cox was sixth in the 400 Free Relay (4:35.96).

For the boys, Reas Pepper finished fourth in the 200 Individual Medley (2:26.79), Cole Tatro was fourth in the 100 Fly (1:05.27), and fifth in the IM (2:32.60), Coen Bible was fifth in the 100 Free (59.43), Brayden Karr was fifth in the 100 Breast, Brady Philabaum was seventh in both the 500 Free (6:40.31), and the 100 Back (1:10.68), JT Roberts was eighth in the 100 Back (1:12.53), Brody Fischer was ninth in the IM (2:47.53), Lincoln Shroyer was 10th in the 50 Free (26.43), Austin Bahmer was 10th in the 100 Back (1:17.54), and Gavin Donnell was 10th in the 100 Breast (1:22.89).

In the 200 Medley Relay, Philabaum, Karr, Tatro, and Pepper were fourth (2:03.01), and Roberts, Fischer, Donnell, and Shroyer were seventh (2:08.37). In the 200 Free Relay, Karr, Shroyer, Coen Bible, and Pepper were third (1:45.56), while Fischer, Luke Massie, Cale Bible, and Roberts were seventh (1:51.26), and in the 400 Free, Tatro, Roberts, Coen Bible, and Pepper were fifth (4:00.70), while Massie, Philabaum, Karr, and Shroyer finished seventh (4:15.17).

The teams will travel back to Dover for a dual meet on Wednesday before participating in the Coshocton Invite on Saturday Dec. 8.
