River View swim places first at Scottie Sprints Meet

ZANESVILLE – The River View and Coshocton swim teams competed along with 10 other schools at the Scottie Sprints Meet hosted by Tri Valley at the Muskingum Recreational Center on Saturday, Nov. 30. Both the River View boys and girls’ teams placed first overall, and the Coshocton girls placed ninth.

Scoring points in individual girls events for the Black Bears, Berta Vidal won the 50 Back (30.39), Carolyn Cox was third (32.56), and Rachyl Smalley sixth (36.56), Aliya Stevens was fourth in the 100 Breast (1:26.94), Cox was third in the 50 Free (29.83), and Mary Ann Lozowski  was sixth (31.61), Vidal was second in the 100 IM (1:06.95), and Lindsey Ashcraft was sixth (1:12.48), Lozowski was eighth in the 50 Fly (38.01), Katie Hardesty won the 100 Back (1:21.34), Ashcraft was third in the 50 Breast (36.10), and Stevens was sixth (38.82), and Michaela White was seventh in the 100 Free (1:14.08).

In girls’ relays, Cox, Ashcraft, Vidal, and White were second in the 200 Medley (2:07.86), and Ashcraft, Rachel Vandenbark, Cox, and Vidal were second in the 200 Free (1:56.88).

Individually for the River View boys, Brady Philbaum was second in the 50 Back (30.13), and Luke Massie third (30.63), Gavin Donnell was second in the 100 Breast (1:18.64), and Nathaniel Stamper sixth (1:27.53), Reas Pepper was second in the 50 Free (24.94), and JT Roberts and Coen Bible tied for fifth (25.87), Cole Tatro was third in the 100 IM (1:05.60), and Ahmed Perez eighth (1:22.87), Brayden Karr was third in the 50 Fly (27.86), Tatro fourth (28.48), and Brice Cross seventh (32.29), Massie won the 100 Back (1:09.40), Wesley Shontz was fourth (1:24.06), Karr was third in the 50 Breast (34.04), Pepper fifth (34.29), and Donnell sixth (35.86), Bible was third in the 100 Free (57.94), Philabaum was fourth (58.41), and Roberts sixth (59.68).

In the relays, the boys won the 200 Medley with the group of Philabaum, Donnell, Tatro, and Pepper (1:54.66), and placed fourth with the relay of Massie, Karr, Brody Fischer, and Roberts (2:02.78), Zachariah Phillips, Tatro, Philabaum, and Malek Better won the 200 Free (1:45.00), while Drew Tumblin, Donnell, Nataniel Stamper, and Will Bullock finished sixth (2:07.66).

For the Coshocton girls, they got points in individual events from Autumn Jones, third in the 100 Free (1:08.68) and fourth in the 50 Back (35.03), and Bella Hall, seventh in the 50 Fly (37.55), while the 200 Free Relay of Jones, Chloe Hall, Kendall Jackson, and Bella Hall placed fifth (2:07.38).
