River View swim sweeps season opening double dual meet

COSHOCTON – The River View Black Bears Varsity Swim Teams swept a season opening double dual meet hosted by Coshocton at the Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium on Nov. 26 and had a swimmer break an individual record.

In individual results for the girls, Lindsey Ashcraft won the 200 IM (2:59.90) and the 100 Breast (1:29.77), Berta Vidal won the 100 Fly while posting a new school record time (1:11.72), and the 100 Back (1:12.90), Carolyn Cox won the 100 Free (1:15.63) and finished second in the 50 Free (33.34), Mary Ann Lozowski was third in both the 200 Free (2:57.82), and 400 Free (6:29.07), Raychel Smalley was second in the 50 Free (35.59), Michaela White was second in the 100 Free (1:19.44), Katie Hardesty was second in the 400 Free (6:23.53), and Aliya Stevens was second in the 100 Breast (1:39.44).

In relays, the group of Cox, Ashcraft, Vidal, and Hardesty won the 200 Medley (2:23.14), Ashcraft, White, Cox, and Vidal won the 200 Free (2:11.83), and Lozowski, Rachel Vandenbark, White, and Hardesty won the 400 Free (5:22.44).

For the boys, Reas Pepper won the 100 Free (1:01.43) and was second in the 200 Free (2:24.67), Brayden Karr won the 50 Free (28.00 and was second in the 100 Breast (1:26.62),Cole Tatro won the 100 Fly (1:14.42), Brady Philabaum won the 100 Back (1:11.45) and was third in the 100 Free (1:03.55), Luke Massie won the 200 IM (2:56.49), Ahmed Perez won the 400 Free (5:24.30), JT Roberts was second in the 50 Free (28.20), Zachariah Phillips third in the 200 Free (2:26.98), Nathaniel Stamper was third in the 400 Free (6:28.80), Coen Bible was second in the 100 Back (1:19.38), and Gavin Donnell was third in the 100 Breast (1:27.20).

In the relays, Philabaum, Karr, Tatro, and Roberts won the 200 Medley (2:10.07), Bible, Karr, Roberts, and Pepper won the 200 Free (1:51.58), and Philabaum, Tatro, Bible, and Pepper won the 400 Free (4:19.42).

For the Redskins girls’ team who defeated Heath, Bella Hall won the 50 Free (33.07) and was third in the 100 Breast (1:40.54), Autumn Jones was second in the 200 Free (2:54.43) and third in the 100 Back (1:24.43), Peyton Modlin was third in both the 200 IM (3:05.65) and the 100 Fly (1:26.29), and Kendall Jackson was third in the 100 Free (1:19.78).

The 200 Medley Relay of Jones, Chloe Hall, Modlin, and Hall placed second (2:37.78), and the 400 Free Relay of Hall, Jackson, Jones, and Modlin was second (5:23.67).
