River View swimmers compete at Tri-Valley meet
ZANESVILLE – The River View swim teams competed at a Tri-Valley hosted meet at the Muskingum Recreation Center on Monday, Jan. 15.
The boys defeated both Tri-Valley and Canal Winchester by scores of 97-59, and 88-85. The girls defeated Licking Valley 121-35, and fell to Tri-Valley and Canal Winchester by scores of 74-96, and 83-86.
The girls’ relay of Carolyn Cox, Lindsey Ashcraft, Josie Fornara, and Jesse Vandenbark placed second in the 200 Free (1:58.23), and third in the 200 Medley (2:11.00), and the group of Fornara, Katie Hardesty, Emily Jacobs, and Vandenbark was third in the 400 Free (4:40.54).
Individually, Fornara won the 100 Fly (1:15.71), Ashcraft placed third in both the 200 IM (2:37.15) and the 100 Breast (1:17.60), and Vandenbark finished third in the 50 Free (29.67).
The boys’ relay group of Reas Pepper, Dylan Harsh, Caleb Fischer, and Jake Mitchell won the 200 Free (1:40.96), Pepper, Kaden Poorman, Fischer, and Mitchell were second in the 400 Free (3:56.51), and Brady Philabaum, Harsh, Brayden Karr, and JT Roberts were third in the 200 Medley (2:08.07).
Individually for the boys, Pepper won the 200 IM (2:32.60), and placed third in the 100 Free (59.97), Fischer won the 100 Breast (1:07.57), and finished second in the 100 Fly (1:00.22), Roberts won the 50 Free (28.01), Philabaum was second in the 500 Free (6:33.50), and third in the 100 Back (1:11.41), Mitchell was second in the 200 Free (2:02.47), Lincoln Shroyer was second in the 50 Free (28.67), Karr was second in the 100 Breast (1:18.11), and Harsh was third in the 500 Free (6:39.61).
The Black Bears will host their annual Invite on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium in Coshocton.
