River View swims at Dover Invite
The River View Varsity swim teams opened its season by competing in the Dover Invite at the Tuscarawas YMCA on Dec. 4. The boys’ team finished second overall, while the girls’ finished ninth.
Winning events for the boys were the 200 Freestyle Relay of Zachariah Phillips, Jamal Watts, Colin Addy, and Coen Bible with a time of 1:36.91, Cole Tatro in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:16.53, and Coen Bible in the 100 Free with a time of 53.59.
Also placing in the top 10, the Medley Relay of Phillips, Addy, Tatro, and Watts placed third (1:55.36), the 400 Free Relay of Watts, Addy, Tatro, and Bible also placed third (3:42.56), and the group of Jesse Shoemaker, Valesquez Bernardo, Marcos Barbe, and Jamison Adams placed 10th (4:41.07).
In individual events, Bible was third (2:03.40) and Barbe was 10th (2:46.20) in the 200 Free, Phillips was second (24.08) and Watts was fourth (24.75) in the 50 Free, Tatro was second (58.05) and Addy was seventh (1:09.49) in the 100 Butterfly, Adams was eighth (1:21.34) in the 100 Backstroke, and Phillips was third (1:10.66) in the 100 Breaststroke.
In the girls’ relays, Cortney Bookless, Britton McCoy, Ally Fischer, and Michaela White were ninth (2:26.35) while the group of Piper Andrews, Kynsington McMasters, Emily Williams, and Alexa Rodriguez placed 10th in the 200 Medley. Bookless, Andrews, White, and Fischer were ninth (2:08.79) in the 200 Free, and Bookless, White, McCoy, and Fischer were 10th (4:55.21) in the 400 Free.
In individual events, Britton McCoy placed 10th (1:29.69) in the 100 Breast.
