Robert (Bob) R. Asadorian
Robert (Bob) R. Asadorian passed away peacefully on Saturday March 8, 2025, in his winter home of Tucson, Arizona. Son of Oscar and Zari Asadorian, Bob is survived by his daughter Lynn Madewell and granddaughter Nicole Madewell, and niece Zari Ballard and her son Sky. Bob leaves behind a legacy of people whose lives he so positively impacted over the years.
Born and raised in Providence, RI, Bob always loved life and lived it to the fullest. He often spoke of how, on the morning of his eighteenth birthday, his beloved older brother George whisked him off to California and how he never looked back. There, he went to college, toured local clubs as a jazz drummer and, later, became enthralled with big, fast cars like the Lincoln Continental that he drove for over 25 years. Bob soon became a successful entrepreneur, traveling nationwide to swap meets and gem shows buying and selling jewelry under the name Times Jewelry, a business his father started in the 1930’s. His careers in later life included traveling the country as a crisis manager for FEMA and then becoming a banker at Huntington Bank.
However, by his own account, Bob’s biggest achievement occurred somewhere in the middle, in his early 40’s, at a Full Gospel Business Luncheon where he was introduced to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and became born again. A professed non-believer prior to the luncheon, Bob embraced this new way of life and pursued his new faith with total commitment and determination.
In the early 2000’s, Bob created his own Christian outreach ministry that included hosting a weekly prayer line LIVE on local public television in Columbus. Bob did this for many years while continuing to work at FEMA and then at Huntington Bank. Bob also became a Chaplain at Ohio State hospital where he would spend his weekends and evenings, after a long day at work, going from room to room, praying with patients and their loved ones. Bob had such faith in the healing power of prayer over the sick that many of the hospital staff would often openly acknowledge his success…and, to that, Bob would give God all the glory.
Bob’s favorite Bible verse was Mark 11:24:
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24 KJV
When Bob prayed, he believed God’s promises!
Bob often said he simply loved life and, indeed, he was grateful to God for the full life he’d been given. We will miss him but, at the same time, we will rejoice that he is with Jesus and most likely still going door to door visiting the people that he led to Christ and watching over those that he has left behind.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. Burial will be held at Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio.
