Robert L. McVay Sr.

COSHOCTON – Robert L. McVay Sr., 73, of Coshocton passed away at his home on Wednesday July 11, 2018. He was born in St. Albans, West Virginia to the late Harold W. and Thelma (Taylor) McVay.

He was retired from First General Electric and most recently worked for River View Local School District.  He loved watching NASCAR, fishing with his late wife Linda, hunting, cooking on the grill, and gardening.

Robert is survived by his son Robert L.(Roberta) McVay, Jr. of Coshocton; two daughters Gina (Greg) Wheeler of Zanesville, Kim (Greg) Sopczak of Columbus; step-daughter Jendra (Shawn) Mitchell of Coshocton; grandchildren Robert and Wesley McVay, Stephanie Kaufman, Neeley and Damon Wheeler, and Alex Sopczak;  12 great grandchildren and a special great granddaughter, Journey;sister Kay (Russell) Mercer; brother Bart McVay; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife Linda McVay whom he married July 1, 1990; sister Brenda Darr; two brothers and a step-son Donald Robinson.
Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Kris Giles officiating.  Burial will follow at the Canal Lewisville Cemetery.
