Robert Lynn Knicely

Robert Lynn Knicely, 73, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away in Lakeland, Florida on Jan. 22, 2024. Bob was born in Conesville, Ohio on February 13, 1950, to Betty Allen (Jim) and Wayne Knicely. He graduated from River View High School in 1968. Bob wed Mary (Cline) June 15, 1986, and together they shared four children.

He retired from AK Steel in 2004 after 36 years of employment. He was an avid softball player in his prime, coach to many, enjoyed playing golf, hunting and most of all he loved smoking his Kool Filter Kings while watching Fox News, Buckeyes, Browns and the Indians all while drinking his instant coffee. Bob was also a proud member of The United States Army, serving as a medic from 1969-1971. Bob is survived by his wife Mary and children Kurt (Jenn) Knicely, Kristy (Jason) McCormick, Keri Knicely and Kyle (Kaylie) Knicely. He was a proud “Papaw/Bobby” to ten grandchildren, Brice (21), Isabella (19), Nathanial (19), Mackenzie (19), Carter (16), Abigail (15), Austin (15), Zachary (8), Aria (6), and Michael (4). His favorite pastime was watching them in their extra-curricular activities. Siblings include, Carol (Lynn) Mikesell, Chuck Allen, Janie (Brad) Sarchet, Lisa (Brian) Davis, Chris (Tina) Allen.

He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Allen, his father Wayne Knicely, Edgar and Marie Phillips Knicely (paternal grandparents) and Jay and Dorothy Courtwright (maternal grandparents).

Bob will be cremated in Florida and a Celebration of Life will take place in Coshocton, Ohio on April 13, 2024. Details to come.
