Rogers002COSHOCTON- Robert Nathan Rogers, 84, of Glendale Dr., died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at Autumn Healthcare.

He was born April 7, 1930 in Lafayette Twp. to the late Dock F. and Kate (Moody) Rogers.  He was a 1948 graduate of Plainfield High School, and he served in the US Navy as an electrician on the USS Amphion in Norfolk, VA from 1948-1952.  He was an employee of AK Steel for 30 years until his retirement in 1992.  He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Coshocton, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #376, American Legion Post #65, and the former Sertoma Club.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Unita F. (Akins) Rogers, whom he married Feb. 6, 1954, two daughters; Diana (Gary) Kobs of Wooster, and Tina (Jay) Love of Muncie, IN, and two nephews; Ronald Rogers of Akron, and Jay Rogers of Coshocton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Rogers, and a brother, Jack Rogers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Jeremy Roseberry officiating.  Burial will follow in Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens.  Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com

    So sorry to see this note in the Coshocton newspapers. Bob Rogers was a longtime Plainfield friend over the years, and a classmate at Plainfield High School. His Dad, "Dod" was well known to the students as a school bus driver. Wanted to remember Unita and the families with sincere condolences and deepest sympathies. His friendship and our memories of growing up in the Plainfield area will be long remembered. He will be missed. Ed Johnson, Colonel, USAF (ret) Georgetown, TX.
