Vickers, RodneyRodney D. Vickers, 65, of Coshocton passed away at 1:54 P.M., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Kindred Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Coshocton.

Born November 8, 1947 in Newark, he was the son of the late C. Donald and Evelyn Pauline (Davis) Vickers.

Rodney was a 1967 graduate of Coshocton High School and for many years he was active in the Vickers Oil family business.  He also was a bus driver for Seniors Unlimited Bus Lines and Muskingum Coach.  With Rodney’s love to travel, the bus driving responsibilities was a joy to him.

An avid television fan, Rodney will always be remembered for his dedicated care he gave to his mother during her later years.  His phone calls will surely be missed by his sister Vicki (Greg) Montgomery of Coshocton.

Other survivors are his former wife Anita (Bates) Hamilton, son Travis Vickers of West Lafayette; two nieces Cheri Ogle, Dawn Hammond; and nephew David (Cheryl) Ogle.

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by a nephew-in-law Richard “Richie” Hammond.

A graveside service will be held at Frazeysburg Cemetery at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 28, 2013 with Rev. Craig Redecker officiating.  Calling hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton.

In lieu of flowers, memoriums may be made to the Food Pantry at New Life Ministries, 727 S. Seventh St., Coshocton, OH  43812.  Envelopes are available at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton or at the graveside service at Frazeysburg Cemetery.

The family sincerely wants to thank Hospice and Kindred Health Care for their care of Rodney during his last illness.
