Roscoe UMC music department to host Musik Fest
COSHOCTON – On Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m., the Roscoe UMC music department will host Musik Fest XIII. This year, five choirs will sing two anthems and several hymns en masse: “Bless This House” and “In the Majesty and Glory of Your Name”, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and “To God be The Glory”. Accompanying the 70-plus voice choir will be a 15-piece instrumental ensemble plus organ and piano. The choirs include: Coshocton First Nazarene, Grace UMC, West Lafayette UMC, Roscoe UMC and the Malone University Alumni Chorale. Each choir will sing two anthems individually. Levi Muriuki will be playing the organ for the Musik Fest. He is a senior with a double major in computer science and organ performance. His future plans are to return to Kenya to share his music abilities. He has been invited to come to Yale as well as Rice University to pursue a master’s degree. He is the pastor of music ministries at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canton. There will be a time of refreshments and fellowship after the concert. More information can be given by calling Roscoe UMC during regular business hours at (740) 622-7780 or by visiting roscoeumchurch.org.
