Roscoe Village events are on schedule for 2021

| May 12, 2021

Roscoe Village is getting ready for a busy season as its welcomes back festivals and special events for 2021. Plans are well underway for children’s programming, Corvettes at Roscoe Village, the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival and so much more.

The fun begins with The Tales of the Towpath Children’s Series on Mondays, June 7 to July 19 from 10-11 a.m. In collaboration with the Coshocton Public Library’s Tails and Tales reading program, Tales of the Towpath is all about the tailed creatures that each had a role to play in Ohio’s early history. The series includes crafts, stories, and games as well as fascinating tales about sheep, wild animals of the Ohio woods, and other animals of the canal era. The cost is $1 per child for each day; reservations are suggested by calling 740-622-7644, ext. 12.

Modern horsepower will roar into Roscoe Village on Sunday, June 13 with the 22nd Annual Corvettes at Roscoe Village Cruise-in. The cars will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when awards are presented. There is no charge to stroll the village and check out the cars; to register to display a Corvette, email corvettesatroscoe@sbcglobal.net.

The Second annual Family Fun Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. As the name suggests, it’s a day all about bringing the family together for fun and memory-making. There will be games, special discounts, food, and fun.

As children return to school, in whatever form that will take in 2021, Roscoe Village is ready with Homeschool Days on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16-17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The homeschool event underwent an update in 2020 to include a full day of hands-on crafts, leisurely historic tours with informative video presentations and live interpreters, canal boat rides, and family lunch specials at village restaurants. Children are kept so busy with creative activities they hardly realize they’re learning. Homeschool Days offers special pricing and activities with online registration beginning in August. Watch the Roscoe Village website for details.

Roscoe’s largest event will be back in the village with Apple Butter Stirrin’ on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 15-17. Planning for this event began in January, with the confidence that many of the pandemic restrictions will be lifted by the time of the event. Vendor applications are pouring in and the entertainment line-up is in place. Roscoe Village is prepared to comply with any restrictions that may remain by October, and they’re planning for an exciting event that will mark the 50th Anniversary of the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival in Roscoe Village, with all the Fall sights, scents and sounds that make this festival special.

Back on the schedule for the first two Saturdays in December are the annual Roscoe Village Christmas Candlelighting Ceremonies at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 11. Roscoe Village comes alive with Christmas customs and traditions for the holidays and the candlelighting ceremonies have been a part of that tradition for nearly 50 years.

Roscoe Village is looking forward to complementing their daily tours, activity center, shops, and restaurants with the return of a full festival schedule for 2021. For additional information, contact the Roscoe Village Foundation at 740-622-7644 or visit www.roscoevillage.com.
