Rosena B. Kistler Weaver

COSHOCTON – Rosena B. Kistler Weaver, age 92, of Coshocton, passed away on September 15, 2017. She was born on November 14, 1924 in Coshocton County, to the late Clifford and Pearl (Ackeret) Hawkins. Rosena graduated from Warsaw High School in 1942 and attended the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital Nursing Program. She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Ohio University in 1975. Rosena was a RN for Dr. Kistler’s ENT and Ophthalmology practice and later was a nurse at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ; a member of Heart of Gold, River Green’s woman’s golf league, and several bridge clubs. She also enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Rosena was married to Samuel B. Kistler M.D and Maurice Weaver who have both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Kistler Metz of Columbus and son Samuel B. Kistler II (Patricia Downey)  of Powell, Ohio; grandchildren Chloe (Steve Powers) Metz, Karl (Mary) Metz, Tiffany Kistler, Samantha (Matt Rauenswinder) Kistler, Brittany Kistler, and Kinsey Kistler; and brothers, William (Carolyn) Hawkins and Charles Hawkins.  Her survivors also include 9 great grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends.

Along with her parents and husbands, Rosena is preceded in death by her brother, Clifford (Ilse) Hawkins and sisters, Alice Josephine Cullison and Marilyn Rodehaver.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jonathan Carlisle officiating at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Family and friends will be received from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home.
