The Coshocton Rotary Club is here to support the community and that message will now be shared throughout the downtown area.

The Coshocton Rotary Gator was delivered on June 2 and will be used to water all of the plants and flowers in downtown Coshocton. However, you would never know the new 2020 vehicle is a John Deere.

Dush Designs out of Newark wrapped the vehicle in Rotary colors and emblems and if you look closely you also can see a map of the area.

“He gave us three different designs that represented the community and whole beatification theme,” said Doug Marmie, a member of the Rotary Club. “We are here to help folks who need it and this helps makes the community beautiful.”

Coshocton In Bloom maintains the flowers downtown. The Gator they previously used to haul water was damaged in a crash last September.

“With money from Clary Gardens, insurance, and the Rotary Foundation we were able to get this new one,” said Tim France, from Coshocton In Bloom. “The frame was bent on the old one and it would have cost us more to fix it than it was worth. I was concerned about how it would affect the tires (while driving on the roads), but Clary Gardens was able to use it on its dirt trails.”

Flowerpots found throughout the downtown area are rented by businesses and organizations and that helps cover the cost of plants, soil and three people who water them.

The Gator was purchased as close to home as it could be from Ag-Pro in Zanesville and sold to the group by Heather Crawford.
