Roy Allen Aronhalt

Roy Allen Aronhalt, 79, Coshocton, Ohio died Saturday September 7, 2019 after a short illness.  He was born October 29, 1939 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Frederick and Beatrice (Miller) Aronhalt.  He was a 1957 graduate of Roscoe High School and enjoyed getting together for a monthly breakfast with his friends from school.  He also enjoyed gardening, antiquing, golfing, dancing and The Ohio State Buckeyes.  Through the years he was employed by Clow Water Systems, Marion Power Shovel, and Memory Gardens.

Roy was a sanctioned baseball umpire and spent many years on the diamond both umpiring and watching his grandsons play.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles in Coshocton.  On September 13, 1959 he married Sharon (Guilliams) Aronhalt, who survives.  Though they divorced in 2007 after 48 years of marriage the life and legacy they built together lives on in their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In addition to his ex-wife he is survived by his three children, Debi Williams of Coshocton, Rick (Lindsay) Aronhalt of Delaware, Ohio, and Dawn (Wesley) Dawson of Coshocton.  Seven grandchildren, Justin (Maggie) Williams, Ryan Williams, Cory Aronhalt, Shannon (Andre) Braxton, Trever (Allison) Dawson, Kelsey (Devin) Hammond, and Lydia Dawson.  Eleven great grandchildren, one sister Joan (Aronhalt) Scheetz and several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is a very special friend Lucille Taylor of Zanesville, Ohio.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harold Scheetz, brother Dale Aronhalt, and grandson Brandon Lee Williams.  Per Roy’s wishes there will be no funeral services.  He has donated his body to science at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in hopes that his contribution will lead to a cure in cancer.
