Roy Stephen Tipton
Roy Stephen Tipton, 65, of Coshocton passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Roy was born on Feb. 2, 1957, in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Clifton “Hoover” and Betty (Miller) Tipton, who survives. He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1975, where he was a multi-sport athlete and received All American Honors for football his senior year. Upon graduation he worked for Pretty Products and then for Kuhnline and Martin in Canton, Ohio for the last 26 years.
Roy enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling, backyard bonfires, trips to the beach, but most importantly attending his sons’ sporting events. He was an avid University of Kentucky and Coshocton Redskins fan.
His true passion was spending time with his family. He married the love of his life, Pamela Sue (Durben) Tipton on May 1, 1982. They recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. Together they shared four sons, Craig Hamilton, Jason (Courtney) Hamilton, Jarrod (Erin) Tipton, and Jordan (Arika) Tipton; grandchildren, Everly, Easton, Eydan, and Ewan Tipton and Hudson and Jackson Hamilton, and Trennen Martin.
He is also survived by his mother, Betty Tipton; brother, Gary (Jan) Tipton; sister, Debra Brown; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Jeff) Hostetler, Kay Braniger, and Linda Mason; brother-in-law, Ray (Lori) Durben; and numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and special four-legged companion, Bentley.
In addition to his father, Roy was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Everett and Frances Durben; and brothers-in-law, Randy Braniger and Tom Mason.
Roy was loved by all who came in contact with him. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed toward the Roy Tipton Memorial Scholarship, C/O Home Loan Savings Bank; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. Graveside services will be held at West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
