Russell H. Bassett

Russell H. Bassett, 68, of Conesville passed away at his home on Friday June 21, 2024, with his family by his side.

Russell was born in Coshocton on December 20, 1955, to the late Arthur and Helen (Ramsey) Bassett.

He graduated from River View High School and had worked at Bechtol Lincoln Mercury as an ASE certified lead mechanic.  Russell also was an excellent body man at H&H Auto Body in Coshocton.  In his spare time, he loved spending time outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting, tinkering around his garage and working on old cars, he was well known for being able to build something out of nothing.  Russell’s family will dearly miss him, his sense of humor and love for his family.

Russell is survived by his devoted wife, Mary A. (Haines) Bassett whom he married March 11, 1975; children Daniel (Michelle) Bassett of Nellie and Sally (Thomas) Wiggins of Coshocton; grandchildren Damien Brown, Mikayla, Dusty and Austin Bassett; great grandchildren Kaleb, Melodie and Harmony Brown; two brothers Richard Bassett of West Lafayette and Dale (Linda) Bassett of Coshocton; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Robert, George and infant brother Billy Bassett.

Per Russell’s wishes, a cremation will take place, no calling hours or services are planned at this time.

The Miller Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
