Ruth A. Slaughter

WEST LAFAYETTE – Ruth A. Slaughter, 80, of West Lafayette passed away at Altercare of Coshocton on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018.

Ruth was born in Frazeysburg on March 5, 1938 to the late George Asher and Emily J. (Minnich) Kerr. She was a telephone operator throughout her life and worked at the Frazeysburg Truck Stop. Ruth was a member of the Park United Methodist Church where she was on the sympathy committee, was a mentor of the partial hospitalization program and a neighborhood Mom to many children.

Ruth is survived by her husband Donald E Slaughter; two children Donnis (Aimee) Slaughter and Donna (Ron) Sheneman both of Coshocton; grandchildren Evan (Travis) Arnold, Aaron (Tasha) Slaughter, Erik (Taylor) Slaughter, Hollee, Marissa and Quinn Sheneman; one brother George Kerr of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Joseph and Paul Kerr; sisters Mary Anne Archibald and Dora Mae Middlemus.

Per Ruth’s wishes, a cremation will take place, no services are planned.

In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
