Ruth Adkins
Ruth Adkins, age 90, of Port Washington, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. She was born in Richardson, Kentucky on March 7, 1932 to the late John and Ella (Butcher) Van Hoose.
She and her husband, Billy were the owners and operators of Adkins Speedway in Port Washington for many years. Ruth also worked for Walmart in her later years.
Ruth was a member of the Victory Assembly of God Church in Newcomerstown. She enjoyed cooking, decorating her house and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Adkins; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Billy Gene Adkins, who passed away on January 18, 202; her three children, Tony, Kyle and Cheryl and 9 siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Duane Mourer officiating. Burial will take place at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
