COSHOCTON – Habitat for Humanity recently held its annual fall 5K/10K in West Lafayette. Forty runners came out, 11 of which were representing River View Cross Country including Coach Dennis Wilson who is training for a long distance race. He ran 10 miles to get to the race and then ran the 10K.

Top racers in race categories with times are as follows: First overall male 5K – Caleb Anderson 19:29; first overall female 5K – Malena Streby 24:55; first overall male 10K – Javin Robinson 37:41; first overall female 10K – Amy Johnson 49:38.

“This was habitat’s largest race to date in the five plus years we’ve been putting them on,” said Brittleigh Unger, executive director of Habitat. “It was a blast to have many first time runners out, reaching their goals, as well as having the kids out to show support. The runs are my favorite events. It’s a joy to watch people cross the finish line. I can’t thank everyone enough for coming out and helping Habitat reach its goals. Proceeds of our runs go toward helping families reach their goal of home ownership in Coshocton County.”

For volunteer information, call Unger at 740-622-7787. Habitat’s next race will be a four miler held in West Lafayette on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
