WARSAW – Black Bear nation welcomes home a legacy in Head Football Coach Bob Forgrave who will take over the reigns of his alma mater.

Forgrave has a wealth of experience to draw on as River View welcomes home one of its own. Graduating in 1973, Forgrave earned his bachelor’s degree from Muskingum University in 1977.  As a teacher and coach from 1977-1981 at River View High School, Forgrave helped the Black Bears win as the defensive coordinator for head coach Larry Barnhouse.

Forgrave’s resume includes collegiate stops at Penn State, Rutgers, United States Military Academy at West Point, Virginia Military Institute, Millersville University in Pennsylvania, St. Norberts College in Wisconsin and East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. As a high school coach his teams  reached the Pennsylvania district playoffs at Penn Manor and Hempfield High Schools. Forgrave also has 22 years of teaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels.

The River View Local School District is proud to hire alumnus Forgrave as the head football coach, a position that his father Jim Forgrave, held from 1968-1970. Forgrave will teach physical science at River View High School as he leads the Black Bears.
