RVHS track team competes at Gundy Invitational
WARSAW – On April 22, the River View High School Track and Field team competed in the 2017 Leo Gundy Invitational Track Meet held at Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium in New Philadelphia.
Out of eight teams in attendance, the River View girl’s team finished third overall (97 points) and the boy’s team finished fourth (65.5 points).
Highlights for the girl’s team included: First and second place finishes in the 100m dash by Cassidi Bookless and Alicia Lonsinger, respectively. A first place finish in the 400m dash by Cassidi Bookless. A first place finish in the 800m run by Macy Hill. First and third place finishes in the high jump by Brooklyn Douglass and Skyler Stewart. A first place finish by the 4×100 relay team of Cassidi Bookless, Brooklyn Douglass, Jesse Vandenbark, and Alicia Lonsinger. A second place finish in the 200m dash by Alicia Lonsinger. A second place finish by the 4×400 relay team of Cassidi Bookless, Macy Hill, Nicole Bryant, and Alicia Lonsinger. A third place finish in the pole vault by Wynter Gray.
Highlights for the boy’s team included: A first place finish in the 100m dash by Grant Gunn. A first place finish by the 4×200 relay team of Isaiah Cameron, Nick Gunn, Grant Gunn and R.J. Hammond. A second place finish in the discus throw by Kyle McClain. A third place finish in the 300m hurdles by John Hardesty. A third place finish in the 200m dash and the long jump by Grant Gunn.
