Samuel Leroy Guilliams
COSHOCTON – Samuel Leroy Guilliams, 84, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
Samuel was born in Conesville, Ohio, a proud Coal Hollow Kid, on October 23, 1930, the son of the late Lewis and Leota (Walters) Guilliams. Sam graduated from Conesville High School Class of 1948. He was employed for 36 ½ years at Clow Corporation in Coshocton, Ohio, and served as Union President for many years. Sam was a member of Isleta United Methodist Church, was an organizer of the Ohio Big Bucks Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing in Canada for over 50 years, attending auctions, and clerking at many auctions in Coshocton County. Sam also enjoyed sports, and pitched softball for 23 years, and loved to bowl. On April 26, 1991, he married Susan (Burrier) Guilliams, who survives.
He is also survived by his daughter: Patty Payne of Massillon, Ohio, his step-daughters: Sue (John) Williams of Warsaw, Ohio, Sara (Cody) Delong of Cottonwood, Arizona, Christina (Gail) Belt of Plainfield, Ohio, Cindy (Mike) Abood of Coshocton, Ohio, and his step son: Bob (Irina) Ross of Dubai, UAE. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton, Ohio, on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Kathy Powers. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette, Ohio. The family will greet the public on Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. and until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
