Sandra (Cain) Rice

Sandra (Cain) Rice, age 75, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 surrounded by family, at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. She was born on August 1, 1947 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Arnold and Mary (Perkins) Duff. She was a 1965 graduate of Coshocton High School. She worked as a manger at the D&K Department Store as well as Kraft Foods in her later years. On October 4, 2012, she married Charles Rice. Together they loved to travel and go on cruise ships. She enjoyed seeing the country and had visited 38 states. At home, she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She loved every excuse to go shopping. Sandy was strong in her faith and was a longtime member of a church in Coshocton and most recently a member of the Columbiana Baptist Church.

Along with her husband, Sandy is survived by her children, Steve (Amanda) Cain of Coshocton, Lori (Lonny Robertson) Rice of Columbiana, Kathleen (Alan) Bartlett of North Jackson, Karen (Robert) Rast of Trophy Club, Texas and Charlotte Powell of Salem; grandchildren, Mercedes (John) Slowikowski, Laryssa Cain, Matthew Withers, Erin and Nora Mathey, Emily Engel, Shawn Rast and Kiah and Haley Powell; several great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Janice Duff and nephew, Ed (June) Saylor.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 11am to 1pm. The funeral will begin at the funeral home at 1pm. Burial will follow the Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
