Sandra K. Guinther
Sandra K. Guinther, age 72, of Coshocton passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on October 3, 2023.
Sandi was a born in Dumas, Tx to Charlie W. Lipps and Lillian Elizabeth Lipps (Thompson) on January 1, 1951. After relocating to Ohio Sandi attended and graduated from Coshocton High School. She married John R. Guinther on July 28, 1968 at the age of 17. Together they raised 3 children Lori (Rob) Euton, Michael (Lacey) Guinther, and Kathy (James) Spizzirri.
In her early career she worked for the Coshocton Tribune and Shaw Barton. Sandi also worked in Public Relations for Roscoe Village in the 70’s during the filming of Centennial.
Sandi then branched out into the advertising world on her own creating her own company Marketing and Media Creations later changed to Guinther Graphics. Throughout her career, she used her resources to print calendars to support the animal shelter and many other local organizations benefited as well.
Sandi devoted her life to her love of dogs and the love of her community. She was instrumental in chairing, volunteering, organizing and creating Friends of the parks, Friends of the Shelter, the fabulous 50’s festival, Towne Center Association, The Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival, and Business After Hours. The Four Paws Thrift Store and the expansion of the Coshocton Animal Shelter were also Sandi’s projects. She and her husband John save well over 1000 dogs from being euthanized by taking them home and finding placements for them and through adoptions at the thrift store. They also had vending machines donated that were placed throughout the communities of Coshocton and West Lafayette and filled weekly by John to raise money for the Coshocton Animal Shelter Spay/Neuter Fund that she created as well. Pet adoptions and Pet Santa Photos at Tractor Supply was also part of their volunteer work.
Sandi is survived by her 3 children Lori, Mike and Kathy, 5 grandchildren, Ryan Schneider, Hayden Schneider both of Sussex, Wi, Michaela Guinther of Coshocton, Jeremy (Jade) Spizzirri of Louisville, Oh, and Michael Spizzirri of Coshocton, and 2 great granddaughters Violet Spizzirri and Sariah Guinther. As well as one brother Rick Lipps of Coshocton.
Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Elizabeth Lipps, her husband John Guinther, and her brother Donald Lipps.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7: 00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home.
