Shirley A. Wilson
Shirley Ann (Aronhalt) Wilson, 86, of Coshocton, died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Altercare of Coshocton.
She was born the youngest of nine children on February 9, 1936 in Coshocton to the late Harold B. and Winifred D. (Stiner) Aronhalt.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William J. “Bill” Wilson, whom she married June 26, 1955. A son, Craig A. Wilson of Florida, and a sister Helen Totten. A sister-in-law, Bonnalee G. Roahrig and several nieces & nephews.
A lifetime resident of Coshocton, she was a 1954 graduate of Roscoe High School. Shirley’s enjoyment of music led her to sharing her vocal talent with the community in the Adult Choir of Friends, Inc., which supported Hopewell Industries. She also sang with the Adult Choir of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was life time member. There, she directed the children’s choir, participated in VBS Programs and various Youth & Young Adult Ministries. Her organizational skills were utilized in the church Library.
Shirley’s work life employed her in various shops on Coshocton’s Main Street, such as, Carton’s Shoes, By The Railroad, Coshocton Hat and Dress Shop, Roe’s Fashion, and Style Center, to name a few. She also enjoyed working in hospitality at The Olde Warehouse Restaurant in Historic Roscoe Village.
In retirement, she traveled in the company of her husband Bill, throughout the state of Ohio researching Genealogy. Shirley actively enjoyed “Coffee, Walk, & Talk” at Kids America Indoor Sportatorium.
Shirley was generous at heart, concerned about the well being of others, a sincerely devoted and loving Mother and Wife.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey William Wilson, four sisters, Catherine Spang, Leona Reigle, Maxine Thornsley, & Gertrude Stewart and three brothers, Jim, Wayne, & Otis “Jack” Aronhalt. Her inlaws, William H. & Eleanor A. (Clark) Wilson and sister-in-law, Marlene Salmons.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Prairie Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling the arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
