Stephen Frederick Hamilton

Stephen Frederick Hamilton, 74, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital.

He was born Sept. 21, 1948 in Coshocton to the late Paul Allen “Ozzie” and Lois Ada (Lutz) Hamilton. Steve was employed by the City of Coshocton for 32 years. He was superintendent of the Wastewater Plant and then became Director of Utilities before he retired.

Along with his wife, son & daughter-in-law, Steve owned and operated the Village Market in West Lafayette for 16 years until selling the store in October 2016. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon E. (Fouch) Hamilton of Coshocton, whom he married May 6, 1967; children, Steve (Amy) Hamilton II and Amy Bosson, all of Coshocton; his grandchildren, Lacey (Andrew) Vickers of Conesville, Olivia (Zach) Elson of Warsaw, and Gage Bosson of Coshocton; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Peyton, & Anderson Vickers of Conesville, Lilah & London Elson, and step-great-grandson Carter Elson, all of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Brent Hamilton; and two grandchildren, Ashley Hamilton and Brock Hamilton.

Per Steve’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
