Summer reading adventures are planned

| May 27, 2024

The Coshocton County District Library System is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2024 summer reading program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” Readers of all ages are invited to embark on an inspiring journey filled with books, activities, and events designed to inspire a love of reading and exploration.

Program Highlights:

Exciting Learning Challenges: Children and teens can earn rewards and incentives by completing reading challenges and activities. For every five hours of reading, an entry is earned for one of the grand prize drawings. Reading progress can be tracked using the Beanstack app or with the reading logs available at the library. A Summer Checkout Challenge is available for adults. For every five checkouts, an entry is earned for one of the grand prize drawings. Checkout stamp cards are available at the library, or checkouts can be recorded on the Beanstack app.

Interactive Programming: From storytimes and craft programs to book clubs and trivia nights, there’s something for everyone. Check the library’s calendar for a full schedule of events.

Fun and Games: Engage in scavenger hunts, complete BINGO cards, and more. Activities are planned for all ages.

Grand Prizes: Thanks to the generosity of community businesses, organizations, and individuals, great prizes are available for each age group. The last day to participate in the Summer Reading Program is Saturday, July 27. The names of the grand prize winners will be randomly drawn and announced the week of Monday, July 29.

“This year’s theme, ‘Adventure Begins at Your Library,’ aims to spark curiosity and encourage lifelong learning through the magic of stories and adventures, said Jennifer Austin, Library Director of the Coshocton County District Library System. The library is excited to offer a diverse range of programs that cater to all age groups, ensuring that everyone can find their own adventure at the library this summer.”

Registering for the summer reading program is free and open to all community members. To sign up or learn more about the program, visit coshoctonlibrary.org or stop in the library.
