Suspect charged with rape

COSHOCTON – On Sept. 19, Coshocton County Job and Family Services (JFS) contacted Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a possible sexual assault involving a juvenile. Our Special Victims Detective, Det. Nancy Wilt, began our investigation into the alleged assault.
Later in the day, detectives from the sheriff’s office took an adult male into custody, pending the filing of formal charges.
On Sept. 20, Eric M. Dickerson, a 23-year-old male from the Coshocton area, was formally charged with rape, a felony of the first degree. Additional charges are possible once the Coshocton County Prosecutor reviews the entire case.
Assisting your sheriff’s office with this case are the Coshocton County Children Services and the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.
This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
