Suspect disables police cruiser, flees scene

COSHOCTON – On Oct. 26, at 9:17 p.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call in reference to a possible domestic incident in the 24000 block of Township Road 251. Upon investigation of this incident, a female from the Lancaster, Ohio area was located. It was found that there was a verbal altercation between this female and a male.

This female advised that her vehicle was taken without permission by the male subject. After searching the area, the male subject and the vehicle were not located. At approximately 11:16 p.m., an officer with the West Lafayette Police Department located the vehicle in question in the village of West Lafayette.  Once the vehicle was located, the officer with the West Lafayette Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop, as the vehicle attempted to flee and elude the officer. After several minutes of trying to stop the vehicle, this vehicle crashed into a police cruiser, disabling it. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle description is a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, white in color.  The Ohio registration is HEH9036. This vehicle will have significant damage to the rear. If this vehicle is located, please call the West Lafayette Police Department or the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office. This investigation is still very active and ongoing at this time. The names involved are being withheld due to a pending investigation.
