Suspects formally charged with drug trafficking

COSHOCTON – On Nov. 29 at approximately 11:39 a.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of Elm St in the City of Coshocton. Five adults, three males and two females, were taken into custody without incident. Also taken in the search warrant were illicit drugs, drug-related items, a firearm and cash.

On Nov. 30, Daniel C. Kovacs, 33 years old and from the Coshocton area, was formally charged with trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fourth degree. Corey R. Underwood, 38 years old and from the Coshocton area, was charged with trafficking and distribution of heroin, a felony of the third degree.

The two females remain in custody on unrelated warrants and one male was released as part of the ongoing investigation.

Additional charges are anticipated after the case has been reviewed by the Coshocton County Prosecutor.

Assisting the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation is the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
