Tatro sets record for RVHS

River View swimming hosted Coshocton, Fairfield Union, and Ridgewood on Jan. 15 at the Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium, where a new individual meter record time was recorded.

Senior Cole Tatro won the 100 Butterfly event with a new boys’ record time of 1:02.49, formerly held by Tom Arthan from 2012. Additional event winners for the boys were Zachariah Phillips in the 50 Freestyle (25.72) and the 100 Backstroke (1:12.98), Nick Phillips in the 200 Free (2:55.97), Coen Bible in the 100 Free (58.48), the 200 Medley relay of Phillips, Tatro, Colin Addy, and Jamal Watts (2:02.04), the 200 Free relay of Jesse Shoemaker, Jamison Adams, Jonathon Vu, and Addy (1:55.00), and the 400 Free relay of Watts, Vu, Tatro, and Bible (4:11.03).

Runners-up included Watts in the 50 Free (26.04), Vu in the 100 Fly 1:12.94), Adams in the 100 Free (1:11.28), and Valesquez Bernardo in the 100 Breast (1:40.16).

For the Black Bears girls’ team, event winners were Ally Fischer in the 100 Fly (1:26.92), and Michaela White in the 400 Free (6:23.53).

Taking second place were Kynsington McMasters in the 200 Free (3:06.24), Ava Lewis in the 400 Free (6:35.22), Taryn Tumblin in the 100 Back (1:55.77), Britton McCoy in the 100 Breast (1:36.58), the 200 Medley relay of White, McCoy, Fischer, and Emily Williams (2:37.58), and the 400 Free relay of Williams, White, McCoy, and Fischer (5:23.69).
