Terri Lynne (Hanes) Barber, 58, died Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

She was born Aug. 17, 1965 in Mt. Vernon to John W. and Imogene (Mikesell) Hanes. She was a 1983 graduate of East Knox High School, a member of the Ohio Eastern Star, and the Morgan Grange. She was a long-time member of the Walhonding Rube Band, and former member of Sweet Adelines.

Terri loved to travel. Along with her husband, she visited 49 of 50 states at least once, and she especially loved spending time at Yellowstone National Park.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John W. Barber of Utica, whom she married Sept. 23, 1989; her mother, Imogene Hanes of Walhonding; a brother, Timothy (Linda) Hanes of Dublin; a sister, Tina Anderson of Mount Vernon; two nieces, Heidi & Kyra Hanes; and two aunts, Ruth Ann (Don) Mason, and Joy (Bill) Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Hanes.

Private funeral services for family only will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2024 at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Ashley McMillin officiating. A live stream for those not attending in-person will be available at service time on Terri’s obituary page on the funeral home website, www.fischerfuneralhome.com Private burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Terri’s family asks that donations be made in her memory to fight childhood cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
