Terry Lee Holsclaw

| December 13, 2021

Terry Lee Holsclaw, 63, joined our Father’s Kingdom on Dec. 10, 2021. He died in the ICU at Coshocton Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with COVID-19.

Terry was born on Sept. 21, 1958, in Coshocton, to Millard and Freda Gallagher Holsclaw. He was married to Susie Cramblett Bryant from 1977 to 1984 and later remarried to Peggy Titus-Dobbins in July 1986.

Following his graduation from River View High School in 1976, Terry went on to become a master of many skills. As a young man, he was a naturally talented mechanic working for Bechtol Ford in Coshocton. He later transitioned to Pretty Products, Inc. where he honed his skills as a production facility maintenance man. His most recent employment was with Cleveland Cliffs Inc. where he served as an invaluable maintenance supervisor and highly respected friend to many. He was blessed with a natural mechanical aptitude found in very few people. This combined with a character of relentless perseverance enabled him to solve even the most challenging problems at work and in his personal life.

Along with a passionate love for his wife, Terry had a strong, almost spiritual, connection to the outdoors where he found and shared an immense peace with those blessed to know him. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, motorcycle/snowmobile/four-wheeler riding, helping people meet their daily needs and creating things of purpose with his hands. Without doubt, his greatest joy was found in spending time and playing with his children and grandchildren. There was never a time when Terry was more concerned for himself than others. He was a selfless man that brought out the best in everyone he met, inspiring confidence they didn’t know they had. If you knew Terry, he was the highest example of kindness and service to others that one could imagine. He inspired everyone to be better to each other. With the purest intent, he went out of his way to help anyone in need, and refused to accept anything more than a verbal thank you in return. Blind to position or status, Terry never knew a stranger or sat in judgement of others. His out-of-the-blue humor provided a glimpse into an enthusiasm for life rarely found in others and his deepest desire was to share that joy with his family and friends. This was without doubt, his daily calling. There remains an ever-lasting quality to his spirit which will live on as a legacy of kindness and acceptance radiating from those he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Titus-Holsclaw and children, Jennifer (Ray) Young and Clay (Ali) Holsclaw, Mark (Andi) Dobbins and Josh Dobbins. Also, grandchildren, Emma and Chloe Dobbins, Evie Dobbins, Lane and Ali Young, and the latest arrival, Danielle Holsclaw. In addition, he is survived by his mother, Freda Holsclaw, siblings, Debbie (Tim) Forsythe, Mabel (Bobby) McCloy, Joy (Jimmy) O’Hara, Sherry (Rob) Hudson and half-siblings, Millie Kussmaul, Ruth Reid and Mick (Mary Ellen) Halikos. He also left behind many nieces and nephews and his special four-legged companion, Buddy. He was proceeded in death by his father, Millard F. Holsclaw.

Per his wishes, a cremation will take place with the Miller Kaser Cremation Services. Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton, on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, from 4-6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Coshocton Animal Shelter at 21755 TR 164, Coshocton, Ohio 43812.
