Tiedt leads Lady Skins in digs

Thursday evening, Sept. 7, in Crooksville, the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team picked up a straight sets victory over the host Ceramics in convincing fashion by the scores of: 25-17, 25-16, 25-10.

The Redskins used a balanced offensive attack in their victorious effort. Sophia Mcfadden led the offense with seven kills, while Lilah Laaper and Kenidi Jackson each added six, and Lacey Guthrie and Leah Mathias each contributed five. Defensively, Jaeli Tiedt picked up 10 digs while Guthrie added nine. Lacey Guthrie was also the assists leader with 17, and the service aces leader with three.
The win improves the Redskins to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in the Muskingum Valley Conference. Crooksville falls to 1-9 (0-6 MVL)
In the reserve contest, Coshocton swept the night picking up the victory in two sets; 25-23, 25-19. The JV ‘Skins were led by Kylee Raber with nine kills while Mallorie Stamper added six. Jazlene Brown served up four aces.
The volleyball team is back in action next Tuesday, Sept. 12, when they welcome Maysville to the Wigwam. The first preliminary match will start at 5 p.m. with the reserve and varsity contests to follow.
