United Way only $6,000 short of goal
COSHOCTON – With a month to go before the 2014-2015 campaign is formally closed by the Board of Control, the United Way of Coshocton is very close to reaching the goal of $380,000, having collected $373,500 so far, leaving about $6,000 to go.
The 18 local United Way agencies, who served over 20,000 individuals last year, are getting ready to present their financial needs to the Budget committee in April where the committee will listen to and decide about the final allocations to be given out for the fiscal year of 2015-2016. Allocation amounts are based on actual monies collected from the previous year’s campaign.
“We are very hopeful that we make our goal again this year so that we can continue to support these essential programs provided by our Partner Agencies,” said Lyn Mizer, Director. “This has been a very busy year for the United Way of Coshocton with the move of our office and the launching of 2-1-1. We are also in the middle of listening to Coshocton County residents through several conversations we are holding in partnership with the OSU Extension office. It is our hope to identify a few common concerns that are resonating with Coshoctonians in order to put a plan into place to address those concerns.”
The United Way Annual Meeting is coming up Thursday, Feb. 19th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Breakfast will begin at 6:45 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 a.m. Tickets are $10. Please call 622-4567 if you wish to go and your reservation is not in.
