United Way Partners with Genesis to dash to the goal
United Way of Coshocton County has reached 95% of its $300,000 goal for the 2022-23 campaign receiving more than $285,789 in donations/pledges thanks to the generous donations of the community. On behalf of the 2022-23 corporate sponsor Genesis Healthcare System, CEO Matt Perry has agreed to personally match additional donations made up to $8,000 to help the agency reach the goal for this campaign ending on Thursday, Aug. 31.
To generate new pledges and highlight the work of what these institutions are doing for the community of Coshocton County, Genesis and the United Way will hold a week-long “Dash for the Goal” radiothon event on WTNS from Monday, Aug. 7 to Thursday, Aug. 10. Donors will call the radio station to make pledges. United Way will also have donation jars at all upcoming events to collect funds until Aug. 31. During the week of the radiothon, various Genesis representatives and United Way board members and partner agency representatives will talk about the work they do and the importance of United Way funding in the community. Emma Mitchell, executive director of the United Way of Coshocton County and United Way Board President Steve Oster will kick off the week on WTNS radio on Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. Matt Perry CEO of Genesis HealthCare System will then discuss why it is important to the community to reach the campaign goal. United Way will invite the partner agencies as well as Genesis Coshocton Medical Center representatives to speak between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. during the week.
United Way of Coshocton County Executive Director Emma Mitchell said, “We are thankful for the assistance of Genesis Healthcare Systems for valuing what we do for the community of Coshocton enough to place such importance on helping us reach our campaign goal. United Way of Coshocton County has been around for more than 83 years with the mission statement of uniting neighbors and resources to positively impact lives in Coshocton County, we could not do that without community support from local organizations.”
“This goes well beyond the walls of our hospital, outpatient centers and physician offices,” said Mathew Perry, CEO of Genesis HealthCare System. “When we work together as friends and neighbors to help out our own, everyone benefits. Please donate to the Coshocton United Way so everyone has the help and support they need to thrive.”
Steve Oster, board President of United Way of Coshocton County said, “We are very grateful to Genesis for wanting to help us succeed in this final push to reach our campaign goal. This is our first campaign with a new director and the first time we are able to host all events in person since the pandemic so, we are excited to try new things and make new community partnerships. We hope that this matching campaign Genesis is sponsoring will inspire community members and businesses to give.”
United Way of Coshocton County focuses on three different impact areas: Financial stability, health, and education. The United Way is special because there is no other non- profit organization that enables one donation to support 12 different agencies and more than 30 different programs all at once. The service they offer the donor is their diligence in measuring a program’s efficiency, board support, fiscal responsibility, its reach into the community and ultimately its success. The United Way of Coshocton County is all local. It is locally governed, funds are locally given and locally used.
