Virginia R. Ames, 88, of Coshocton passed away at her home on Tuesday February 16, 2016.

Virginia was born in Guernsey, Ohio on March 2, 1927 to the late Ira and Lorraine (Wyke) Baker.

She enjoyed doing genealogy, sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family. Virginia had worked at General Electric in Coshocton and retired after twenty four years of service.

She is survived by her three sons Bernard (Brenda) Ames of Newcomerstown, Dennis (Keren) Ames of New Philadelphia and Robert (Karen) Ames of Fresno; one daughter Murna (Ron) Royer of Coshocton; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister Betty Bliss of Newcomerstown; two brothers Jack (Ellen) Baker and Gene (Rosemary) Baker both of Newcomerstown; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Nova Thurlow; four brothers Dale, Donald, John and Paul Baker.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday February 18, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Lloyd Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Birds Run Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice”, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
