Virtual author talks available through the library

In partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium, the Coshocton County District Library will offer free virtual author talks each month featuring bestselling, award-winning, and highly acclaimed authors from around the world. The featured writers and thought leaders will cover a wide range of fiction and nonfiction genres. This new service is made possible in thanks to the Coshocton Foundation and a generous donor.

Two to three author talks will be digitally livestreamed each month and include the opportunity to submit questions to the author. Author talks for January include TJ Klune, Amanda Montell, and Seth Fishman. Other featured authors coming up throughout the year include Jennifer Weiner and Jodi Picoult.

The first virtual author talk of 2025, featuring TJ Klune, will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. with a theme of “The Magic of Found Family,” Klune will chat about his “Cerulean Chronicles,” with special emphasis on his newest in the series “Somewhere Beyond the Sea.”

Select virtual author talks will also be held at the library, offering an opportunity to watch the live event together in-person with discussion afterward.

The first virtual author talk to be hosted by the library will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 1:45-3:15 p.m. at the main library. The featured author, Amanda Montell, will speak about her latest book “The Age of Magical Overthinking: Notes on Modern Irrationality,” a blend of cultural criticism and personal narrative that explores our cognitive biases and the power, disadvantages, and highlights of magical thinking. Registration is required.
