Visit the Health, Safety and Wellness Expo

| February 1, 2018

COSHOCTON – “We have been told that a visit to the Health, Safety and Wellness Expo actually saved lives,” said Amy Stockdale, from the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce, when asked why the community should attend the Health, Safety and Wellness Expo that is sponsored annually by the chamber. “One woman told us that suspicious-looking spots were found and she was able to have them removed. We have also discovered that people had high blood pressure that was in stroke range and they were able to get help before a stroke happened.”

This is the sixth year for the expo and the first one to be held at the Coshocton Elementary School. The expo will be Saturday, Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. – Noon. Admission is free and so are many of the services, such as chair massages that can be tried. Dozens of vendors will be there to share information on their services, such as rehab centers, nursing homes, hearing screenings and nutritional supplements.

The Coshocton Regional Medical Center is the biggest vendor and will be offering several life-saving health screenings. There is a fee for blood draws. The library will have a booth set up to share their Tai-Chi program. Attendees will be able to find information on any aspect of health, safety and staying well.

“This is a family event,” said Stockdale. “We have every age from small children to the elderly. Some people come and stay the entire time.”
