Vyvian Arleen (Hart) Chapman
Vyvian Arleen (Hart) Chapman, 83, a resident of Windsorwood of Coshocton, passed away at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia on August 13, 2023, after a long illness which included graduating from hospice care twice before her final stay.
Arleen was born in Tyndall, Ohio, on June 22, 1940, to the late Ernest and Clesson (Cox) Hart. She was a 1958 graduate of Roscoe High School where she was a band member and majorette. She married Rodney L. Chapman on September 17, 1960. They were married almost 63 years.
Through the years Arleen worked at Miller’s Pharmacy, Pretty Products, the Colonial Flag Company and Shaw Barton/JII. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Arleen enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, painting, bingo, zigsaw puzzles and taking long walks with her dogs. Most of all she loved being a Gigi. While many people knew Arleen as being quiet and reserved, she had a way of making people laugh with her quirky way of looking at life.
Along with her parents, Arleen was preceded in death by her brothers Noel and Wayne Hart, sister, Anne Lewis, and sister-in-law, Edith Hart.
In addition to her husband, Arleen is survived by her children, Susan (Barry) Nolan and Connie (Thom) Guinther of Coshocton, and Steve Chapman of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Kemp (Sarah) Nolan of Ocean Springs, MS, Shea (Sean) Fayard of Biloxi, MS, Seth (Ashley) Nolan of Portsmouth, NH, Kenny Cooper of Coshocton, and Cassie Hunley of Acton, MA; great-grandchildren Kade, Kash, and Ellie Nolan, Jace Renner, Tatum Cooper, RaeLee and Remy Rivera; brothers Mike (Becky) Hart and Steve (Diane) Hart of Coshocton, brother-in-law Charlie Lewis of NY, sisters-in-law Pat Hart of Coshocton, and Pam (Vern) Guischard of Allentown, PA, an aunt, Elnora Welsh-Seydler of Columbus, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Windsorwood for the excellent care Arleen received over the past years, and the staff of Community Hospice and the Truman Hospice House for their kindness and compassion during her last days.
Per Arleen’s wishes, she will be cremated and her family will have a celebration of life at a later date. Miller’s Funeral Home of Coshocton is in charge of arrangements.
