Warren Lapp

COSHOCTON – Warren Lapp, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at his residence.

He was born March 11, 1928 in Conesville to the late Archie Clyde and Mabel (Blair) Lapp.  Warren served in the US Army as a sergeant on a tour of duty in Korea with the 840th Engineering Aviation Batallion He was a lifelong farmer, a member of the Grange, Farm Bureau, and an honorary member of River View FFA.  He was a past board member of the River View Schools Scholarship Fund, a member of the Coshocton Masonic Lodge, and the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Coshocton.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Sharples) Lapp, whom he married Sept. 18, 1954; four children, David (Alana) Lapp of Coshocton, Sharon (Fred) Wachtel of Coshocton, Linda (Eric) Meyer of St. Louis, MO, and Carol Lapp of Coshocton; five grandchildren, Michelle (Nathan) Way of McConnellsville, Jennifer (Jason) Massie of Coshocton, Douglas Wachtel of Cleveland, Stephanie (Pat) Snyder of Warsaw, and Capt. Steven Wachtel of Albuquerque, NM; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Layton, & Laramie Massie, and Archie Snyder; a sister, Zelma Barth of Reynoldsburg; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Reese & Alice Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred & Ethel Sharples; a sister, Geraldine Roberts; and two great-grandchildren, Addy Anne & Grady Snyder.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Bryan Kittner officiating.  Military honors will be performed at the funeral home by the Coshocton Co.
