Warsaw teen Ruthie Cameron recently performed with School of Rock Gahanna during their mid-semester show. The show was held at Fenders in Westerville and featured songs by all of the school’s performance groups.

Ruthie, a senior at River View High School, performs as lead vocalist for both the Saturday Performance Program and the School of Rock House Band.

The Performance Program is School of Rock’s hallmark music instruction course. It consists of private lessons and group rehearsals where teens learn by playing rock music’s most iconic songs with a band composed of their peers.

The School of Rock House Band provides students under the age of 18 the opportunity to join a gigging band composed of fellow musicians from their school. Once selected via a competitive audition process, house band members become leaders in their School of Rock community, and perform live shows at Columbus rock venues, festivals and community events throughout the year.

The theme for the fall semester is “Hair Metal” and features music by Whitesnake, Night Ranger, Styx, Autograph, Damn Yankees, Megadeth and more. Previous School of Rock shows have been held at Alrosa Villa, COSI, Harry Buffalo, Turtle Creek Tavern and other regional venues.
