Weekend of praise and worship coming to Warsaw
WARSAW – A weekend of praise and worship is being planned for the Warsaw Camp and Retreat Center.
“We are trying to find more ways to use the facility and have more ministries going on there,” said Lori Davis, who is the administrator of the camp along with her husband Pastor Bob Davis.
The praise and worship weekend will be held Friday through Sunday, May 5-7 at the Warsaw Camp and Retreat Center, 818 Main St. Activities will start at 6 p.m. Friday, May 5 and wrap up around 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7.
The weekend includes a performance by 10-year-old Christian comedian Carson Rowland on Friday evening, Christian music by Anna Johnston (Anna J), Michael Facciani, Cathy Goss, Timothy Noble and the Mark Dubbeld Family, and speakers Pastor Chuck Erbe on Saturday morning and Pastor Bob Davis on Sunday morning.
“Our 10-year-old comedian won first in the state twice and second in the National Talent Expo,” Lori said. “They say he is hilarious and only missed first in nationals because he went over his time by just a couple of seconds. The whole weekend is going to be a nice time for people to get out, fellowship together and promote our campground.”
The campground is owned by the Church of God based out of Anderson, Ind. Lori said it used to only be used about 10 days out of the year, but it’s such a nice facility that they started renting it out to other organizations.
The camp and retreat center dates back to around 1937 and now includes 15 acres that features dorms, a kitchen, dining area, log cabins, campsites, a multi-purpose building, shower houses, a summer kitchen, a tabernacle, four playgrounds, a softball field, basketball court, volleyball area and picnic pavilions.
People can make arrangements to stay at the campground for the praise and worship weekend or just come for the day.
Admission to the event is free, but a love offering will be accepted for each of the performers. There also will be food available for purchase.
“Any profit we make off of food will go for upgrades to the facility,” Lori said.

“I’m excited to see the community come out and fellowship with each other and to get to know more people in the community,” Lori said. “I would like to see this become an annual event. We have such a beautiful facility and I want people to see what we offer here, plus I believe lives will be changed through this ministry. We have an amazing group of people coming to entertain us.”
