West Lafayette clubs join forces for flag program

| April 30, 2021

The West Lafayette Rotary Club and the West Lafayette Lions Club  announce the second year of the Lease an American Flag project. A 3’x5’ flag on a 10’ staff will be placed in a plastic anchor pipe buried in a resident’s front yard. The anchor will be flush with the ground with a cap on it when not in use. The flag remains the property of the Rotary and Lions Clubs.

Displays of the flags are planned for the following holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. The clubs will then pick up the flags and store them for the next holiday. Al profits will be used to support local projects of the West Lafayette Rotary Club and the West Lafayette Lions Club.

Residents wishing to participate in the project may pick up applications at the Ridgewood General Store. Annual cost for the flag display is $25. Checks are to be made out to Rotary Club of West Lafayette Flag account and dropped off or mailed to the Ridgewood General Store (101 E. Main Street, West Lafayette, OH 43845). Applications received after May 15 will be $30. Any questions or to request an application, call Vic Cardenzana at 740-545-6265.
