| September 5, 2018

WEST LAFAYETTE – The Rotary Club of West Lafayette will have a health fair on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 7 – 9 a.m. at the West Lafayette First Baptist Church, 688 East Main St., West Lafayette. No appointment is needed but a 12-hour fast is required. Remember to drink water the day before the screening.

Tests that will be performed are as follows:

  • CBC and Comp Panel (CMP) and Lipid Panel for $50. This includes your blood count and checks for anemia, electrolytes, glucose, kidney and liver function, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL/LDL ratios, and LDL/VLDL cholesterol.
  • AIC for $20. This is a percentage marker for diabetic and degree of control
  • TSH for $20. This tests for a thyroid-stimulating hormone that causes thyroid disease.
  • PSA for $20. This checks for prostate cancer
  • Vitamin B12 for $25.
  • Vitamin D for $35.
  • Male Cancer Screening for $75 which includes liver, stomach, colon, pancreas, and prostate.
  • Female Cancer Screening for $75 which includes liver, stomach, colon, pancreas, and ovarian.
  • HEPC test for $30. If they receive a positive result, the patient must pay $110 for more extensive testing.

Early identification and control of certain types of personal health conditions can significantly improve the health and longevity of individuals who participate in the health fair. By offering a wide-variety of testing to assist your physician in your health care, important concerns such as heart attack, stroke, liver, and kidney disease, anemia, and diabetes are screened for in the general health fair profile.

You must fast for a minimum of 12 hours prior to the time blood is drawn. This means no food or drinks except water. Do not smoke the morning of the health fair. Remember to drink a lot of water the day before.

Your blood will be drawn and transported back to the lab on Main Street. Results are sent only to you. A donation of canned food items for the local food cupboard would be appreciated. Results can take up to two weeks to be returned.

The health fair is sponsored by the Rotary Club of West Lafayette and assisted by the Coshocton Laboratory International, 660 Main St., Coshocton, and the Coshocton County EMS.
