Whitmire charged with aggravated arson

On March 27 at 4:47 p.m. Coshocton Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on the 1000th block of Chestnut Street in reference to a structure fire.

Coshocton Fire was able to put the fire out and it appeared suspicious in nature. Coshocton Fire investigators and detectives were called to the scene for processing. One male suspect was detained as a result of the investigation.

On March 28, Luther D. Whitmire, 51-year-old male of Coshocton was formally charged with aggravated arson, a second degree felony. Assisting with this investigation is Coshocton Fire Department and the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office.
