Wilda M. Rice

| October 30, 2017

WEST LAFAYETTE – Wilda Mae Rice, 91, of Lafayette Pointe, was united in spirit with her merciful Lord and savior on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017.

Wilda was born on Jan. 26, 1926 in Scio, OH to Walter “Dewey” and Nannie (Addelman) Davis.  She was a graduate of Coshocton High School.  On April 5, 1947 she married the love of her life, Lincoln Rice, who preceded her in death on July 13, 1973.

After raising her family on the Rice farm, Wilda worked at the former Warsaw Sparkle grocery store.  She cherished all her friends and always had a hug, cookies, and a cup of coffee ready for each.  Wilda loved gardening, canning and baking.  To Wilda, being close to nature on the family farm was a little parcel of heaven.  She was an active member of Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church until dementia made it impossible for her to continue.

Wilda is survived by her two sons, Dave (Janis) Rice of Rockport, TX, and Rick (Karlene) Rice of Warsaw; her two daughters, Sue (Tom) Welling and Pam Morrison (Terry Heflin) are both of Coshocton.  Her loving family also includes ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Jamie, Emily, Marcus, Lyndsey, Jodi, Lincoln, Lauren, Lacey, and David.  She also has many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Leggett, and her sisters, Jeanne Newton, June Baker, Phyllis Carpenter, and Velma Smalley.

A public viewing for loved ones and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1st at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw.  A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens, with Pastor Ron Davis officiating.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
