Wilma Opal Meek
COSHOCTON – Wilma Opal Meek age 93 of Coshocton, Ohio went to be with her Savior Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Coshocton Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Free Funeral Home with Rev. Phil and Rev. Karen Gibson officiating. Burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service from noon to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born July 30, 1924 to the late French Eldon “Barney” and Opal (Senter) Meek. Wilma was a 1943 graduate of Conesville High School. Wilma was a Sales Clerk at O’Neil’s Department Store for 32 years before retiring October 5, 1985 and also worked as an attendant at Lifeline for 2 years until August of 1998. She was a member of New Moscow United Methodist Church and an Honorary Member of the Vietnam Veterans Association. Wilma enjoyed traveling and writing. She was a member of the Coshocton Write On Writers Group and wrote books of local interest.
She is survived by one brother, Alvin E. (JoAnne) of Lynnville, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Mildred J. “Bunnie” Parks, Eva M. Watkins, Alice Dobson, and Ethel Chase; two brothers: George Meek and French Eldon Meek Jr.
